Our Activities

Churchtown & Castlemitchell Community Development Association has always recognised the long tradition of drama and theatre within the local area and the thespian and musical talent within the local community.  

C.C.C.D.A continues to develop and present a number of theatrical and variety shows each year by the local community for the local community.  

C.C.C.D.A organises many activities for young and old within the community each year.    

These include; 

Dancing classes and Ceilithe,  

Christmas Goose club  

Traditional music classes  

Children’s Summer project  

Halloween family night  

Variety shows  

C.C.C.D.A maintains the O ld Churchtown S chool building which was converted into and operate d as a pottery and a glass workshop.   

A play-school was provided, under private management, until recently, from the local community hall. 

A FÁS computer training programme was also taught from the old school building. 

C.C.C.D.A prides itself in having close community links and integrates with the local G.A.A. club and the local National School whenever possible.
