Mission Statement 

To provide community development programmes within Castlemitchell hall and the old school in Churchtown , that are inclusive, empowering and beneficial to all members of the local community.

Aim 1: 

To provide opportunities for local community to develop skills relevant to the local community. 

Objectives: 

• To involve the local community in all structures and dimensions in the development of a community programme for Churchtown Castlemitchell Community Development Association. 
• To develop an understanding of and access to educational and training programmes relevant to the community programme. 
• To identify and work on the specific educational and training needs of the community identified by the local community within the community programme.

Aim 2:  

To enable the local community to become involved in planning, implementation and evaluation of a community programme and the provision of community development services. 

Objectives: 

• To explore the practical implementation of community development in the community. 
• To access and provide training in community development. 
• To develop the skills required to successfully engage in outreach work. 
• To organise and facilitate focus groups within the community on relevant community development issues and the development of appropriate empowering programmes.

Aim 3:    

To promote creative ways to develop dialogue with service providers, Government departments and funding agencies. 

Objectives: 

• Raise awareness of Churchtown Community Development amongst service providers and funding agencies. 
• To provide all Churchtown Castlemitchell Community Development Association committee with appropriate information re: funding , policies and funding opportunities.

Aim 4: 

To develop a service where Churchtown Castlemitchell Community Development Association can utilise the skills, training and resources within it’s own community. 

Objectives: 

• To develop the capacity and skill of committee members to work within their own community. 
• To work with the local community by developing workshops, surveys and feedback to such surveys through community based launches and outreach work. 
• To provide training and education opportunities to the local community as identified in such surveys.

Aim 5: 

To impact on Community Development policy at a local and national level. 

Objectives: 

• To support community development committee to participate in policy development at local,national and regional level.
• To prepare a community profile on Churchtown/Castlemitchell and its environs.
• To participate in the formation of community development policy locally and nationally.
